Family

Howdy!  This time of the year always brings back such warm memories of when I was a child.  I loved living close to my extended family members because I would usually get to see them for Thanksgiving.  I feel so lucky that we got to spend that time together.

My daughters do not have any cousins, so the holidays are a little bit different for them.  They still get to see family, but it's not exactly like it was for me growing up.  That being said, my oldest daughter has always referred to my cousins' kids as her cousins.  We always just went with it since there really was no harm in her thinking that they were her cousins!!  Back in 2010, we got a picture of most of the "cousins".  I found the picture the other day and decided to scrapbook about how she calls them her "cousins".

For this layout, I used the "Fall Friends" collection by Doodlebug.  It is filled with such adorable little critters!  Here is a close up picture of the top left side of my layout.  I used two of the little critters and made it look like they were holding the family banner.

In this next close up picture, you can see the embellishment cluster that I created on the bottom right side of my layout.  The leaves were cut out of some of the patterned papers on my Silhouette Cameo using a cut file that I purchased from The Cut Shoppe.  I used those as the base for my cluster and then added some stickers, Sprinkles Shapes, and the year using some of the Teensy Type stickers.

In this last close up picture, you can see where I put my journaling.  I didn't want to put the journaling directly on the layout, so I made a tag out of the orange wood grain paper.  I stamped the lines on the tag using an older Technique Tuesday stamp.  I added a twine bow and then stuck it in the little pocket that I created behind the photo.

And, that's where I call her finished!  If you'd like to watch my process video for this layout, you can click below.

Pre-K Graduation

Hey, my scrappy friends!  Today, I am sharing a layout from my oldest daughter's Pre-K graduation.  She graduated in 2010, but I didn't scrap this one until now.  I am so glad I waited because I had recently purchased the Doodlebug "Back to School" collection and the colors were perfect.  Here is a picture of my layout.

The yellow stars in the background were cut on my Cameo using a cut file from The Cut Shoppe.  I thought they were a great contrast to the blue paper, and they also help to make my photo stand out more on the page.  The title was also cut on my Cameo using a cut file from Kerri Bradford.  I cut each part of the title out of different patterned papers in the collection.  Then, I cut the title out again from black cardstock.  I backed each part of the title with the black cardstock offset just a tiny bit.  This just helps to make it stand out more.  Here is a close up picture of the title.

I also used the Sprinkles Shapes that coordinated with the collection.  I added some of the crayons and the tiny stars.  I love the way this turned out!  I'll be using this collection more for sure to scrap some other school pictures!  I also have a process video for this layout if you'd like to watch.

Well, thanks for stopping by today! I'll be back soon with another layout share. Have a happy scrappy day!!

Splash!

Hey there! Today, I am sharing a layout that really makes me happy!! I created this one back in August, but am just now sharing it here. I love the bright colors in this layout! Summer is around for most of the year here in Florida, so I have so much summer paper (It's a good thing I absolutely love summer paper)!! I decided that this picture paired perfectly with products from Doodlebug and Pebbles (because, yes, I have both of those summer collections!!). I did not film a process video for this one, so I thought I would share my layout here with some close up pictures. Here is a picture of the full layout.

I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe for the large sun, the waves, and the title. I cut the sun out of white cardstock and then misted it with Dylusions mist. The other pieces were cut out of patterned paper. I also did an internal offset on the waves and the title and used a sketch pen first in my Cameo so that they would stand out more on the page. I have really been giving my Cameo some serious love lately!

This picture gives you a good close up of the sun and the little embellishment cluster that I added to the top right corner of the picture.  Like I mentioned, I used Dylusions mists to spray the sun.  I first used a yellow mist and then let it dry.  I went back and sprayed just a little bit of orange to warm it up some.  All of the stickers are from the Doodlebug Sunkissed collection.  I just made them into little banners and put them along the right side of the picture for more interest (there was also a woman in the background of the picture and this was an excellent way to cover her).  The sunglasses are from the Pebbles Fun in the Sun collection and the flair button is one that I purchased from Two Peas in a Bucket a few years ago.

And, here is a close up of my title.  I love how fun it feels!  It was the perfect title for this silly picture of my daughter dipping her head in the fountain.

I must say that I am really pleased with how this layout turned out.  I am focusing on what makes me happy in life, and bright colors just happen to be one of those things!!!  Well, thanks for looking and I will be back soon with another layout that I finished last week (which also has a process video).  Have a happy scrappy day!

This is Love

Hey there! Today, I am sharing a layout that I did a few weeks ago using mostly my Felicity Jane kits. For those of you who are not familiar with Felicity Jane, it is a kit club with almost all exclusive goodies. One of the great things about the kits is that much of the stuff coordinates from month to month. You also get a stamp set each month and they are really cute stamps.

So, my layout today was inspired by one of Ashley Horton's layouts. Click here to see her layout. I used the "All Tied Up" file from her shop on Etsy to do the letters. I ungrouped the letters and removed the inside of the letters so that I had just the outline left. I then cut it out on my Silhouette. I love the way the big letters look!! Here is a picture of my finished layout.

Just Play

Hey there, everyone. Today, I have another layout to share with you. This one is using mostly the Play Date collection by Bella Blvd. This is an older collection, but it is so cute! I have hoarded so many Bella Blvd collections over the years, and I decided that I'm not going to do that anymore. I can't look at all the cute papers if they are sitting on my shelf in my scrap room! So, I had this picture of my youngest daughter playing on the playground and thought this collection would be perfect.

There was a layout that Victoria Calvin posted in her Facebook group and everyone loved it so much that she made it one of the challenges to scraplift her layout. I based my layout on hers, and I love the way it turned out.

Here are some close up shots.

The word "PLAY" and the wonky scallops are from The Cut Shoppe. You can find them here.

Well, I hope everyone has had a great week so far! Have a happy scrappy day!
