Twofie?

So, lately the rage is people taking selfies.  I had never taken selfies before, but my oldest daughter was home with me one day over the summer and I was desperately trying to keep her entertained and work.  I suggested we take some goofy selfies together.  We snapped away, and actually did get some pretty silly selfies.  As we were going through them, my daughter says, "Since there are two of us in the picture, doesn't that make it a twofie?"  The girl cracks me up, but I guess she does have a good point!  So, here is a layout with some of our twofie pictures that I made with the October 2014 Felicity Jane kit.  It's my first layout using a grid design and I really like it!  I will definitely be doing more of these grid layouts in the future!  Have a great day, and thanks for looking!

Exciting News!

I am so excited to share that I have a layout featured in the Bella Buzz, which is Bella Blvd's newsletter.  It is the "Besties" layout in the "Bringing Back Bella" section.  Let me just say that my heart just about jumped out of my chest when I received a message from Laura Vegas asking if they could feature my layout in the newsletter!  Bella Blvd has been one of my most favorite scrappy companies for many years.  I love to hoard their papers, but I'm actually using them these days because they are just too darn cute to sit in the collection packs.

If you would like to take a look at their newsletter, you can click here.  Go check it out!

Once again, I have failed at my blogging attempt!!  Life was just way too crazy.  My little one had acid reflux, and it was causing all of us some stress.  Once she got on medication, it was so much better!  Thankfully, she has outgrown the reflux but old habits die hard.  I still have a towel by my bed just in case she gets sick - LOL!  My little one is now almost 2 years old and she is more than a handful.  She is like Velcro to me all the time -- my little shadow!  Things will get easier as she gets older, but right now, she is extremely high maintenance.  Totally different from my experience with my older daughter who is now nine.

As far as my scrappy life goes, I have actually been back in my craft room.  We have been in our new house for over a year now, but I still don't have my room totally setup.  I still have four huge bins in storage that contain tons of scrappy goodness.  Of course, since tons of my stuff is still in storage, I did what any dedicated scrapper would do!  I went right out and bought more scrappy stuff!  The difference is that I'm actually using a lot of it.  I only get to scrap on Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays, and Fridays.  Not every week, but I try to get as much time in as possible because it just flat out makes me grumpy when I don't get to create.  I guess since I don't get as much time to scrap with the little one around, it makes me quit over-thinking things and helps me to just commit things to paper.  It has also helped me to get over my fear of cutting pretty paper!  I used to save paper for that special layout.  You know what I'm talking about!!  You've all done it!  Well, no more!!  Now, I just use it!!  I'd much rather be able to look at the pretty papers in my albums.  And, since it has been forever since I have posted any scrappy goodness on my blog, I thought I would share a layout that I completed recently.

This is actually a picture from 2013 of my little one and me at her first preschool Halloween party.  All of the papers are by Bella Blvd.  I had a lot of fun making this one!

Well, let's see if I can actually post again before next year!!  Don't hold your breath!

Baby Wonders

It is so amazing to see the wonder in a child's eyes.  I love to watch my little one just taking it all in.  Everything captivates her attention!  It can be something as simple as a kitchen light or a spinning fan.  We don't think anything of these things as adults, but to a baby, this is fascinating stuff!  And, all of the baby babble that follows is just adorable.  Babies don't hold back!  They let us know what they're thinking even if we can't always understand them.  I love how my little one just babbles away.  She tells it like it is!!  Oh how I wish I could do that on a daily basis.  Somehow, I don't think that would be acceptable in the adult world.  For now, I will live vicariously through her!

Change

It has been quite some time since my last post.  It has also been quite some time since I last scrapbooked.  My life got a bit crazy and I decided to take a break from things.  During that time, I had another child and life got even crazier!  After she was 3 months old, I went back to work and life was in full blown chaos.  Things have not calmed down but I'm trying to get back into some creative things.  Oh, I also forgot to mention that we moved to a new house during all this chaos but we still own our other house.  We will hopefully be selling the old house soon.  We created a lot of great memories in that old house.  It was our first house.  We had three greyhounds and two children over the years in that house.

I have decided that even if I don't have time to create because of all the chaos in my life, I still need to document the important things that are happening.  I need to just be able to let it all out when need be.  It doesn't matter if I'm the only one reading it.  I need to do this because I want to remember these things that are truly important to me -- the things that will take my breath away when I think back to them.  The things that bring tears to my eyes when I remember.  Or if I find myself in the situation that I can't remember anymore, my kids will be able to show me this.  And, maybe, just maybe I'll remember all the things that made me happy.

I am rethinking what is really important to me in this life because at the end of the day, I do not want to be remembered as the grouchy, overstressed, overstretched mom.  I had a friend with a mother that was constantly yelling.  It made me nervous!  I can understand why she was that way now that I'm an adult with responsibilities, but I don't want to be that way.  That is not how I want my kids or their friends to remember me.  Right now, I don't have much time to myself.  That is part of my problem.  It feels like someone always wants something from me.  I am trying to take back my Fridays since it is my day off from work.  Hopefully, this will help me to feel like I exist as a person again until I get to take more time for myself.  And, that time will be soon....

Better Late Than Never

So, I’m finally getting around to posting some Christmas cards that I made.  I took the pictures with my iPhone so they may not be the best quality.

I got the idea for the reindeer card from Nichol Magouirk. Mine is slightly different, but I loved her version so much that I did not deviate that much from it.  The reindeer was downloaded from the Silhouette online store.

These next three cards are using designs from Kerri Bradford Designs. I love her stuff!! I will soon be buying more designs from her.

This last card is using a design that I downloaded from the Silhouette online store.  I thought the little snowman was so cute!!

I am hoping that I can eventually get InLinkz setup so that I can start linking all the products that I use.  Let’s just suffice it to say that my Cameo got a great workout making these cards, and I have been using it all the time!!  It is one of the best investments I have ever made when it comes to scrapbooking/cardmaking.

Well, thanks for looking!  I hope to be more active on my blog this year and post more projects.  Yes, I said the same thing last year and it didn’t happen, but I am really trying to make it happen this year.  What can I say…life is busy!!!

Update: I got InLinkz setup tonight!!!  Yahoo!
