Free Stuff!!

So, who wants some free stuff???  I know that I certainly would love some free goodies!  If you go visit Debbie's blog, you can have a chance to win some of the Basic Grey Green at Heart collection.  She got carried away and accidentally over ordered.  Instead of returning the items, she is being extremely generous and offering them to a lucky winner.  All you have to do is go to her blog, become a follower, post something on your blog if you have one, and then leave a comment for her.  Totally worth it!!!  Also, be sure to check out her beautiful work while you are there!!

Proud Mama

Once again, I am so proud of my little girl!  She had already been accepted to Academy of the Holy Names, but then she was also accepted to Berkeley Preparatory School.  It was a tough decision, but we have chosen Berkeley.  My brain knows it is the right place for her, but it does make my heart sad because her best friend will be going to Academy.  Now, I know that they are only 4 and 5 year old girls and that their friendship really depends on the parents at this age.  And, even if they were going to the same school it doesn't mean that they would stay best friends.  I think back to how many times I "changed" best friends!!  This is why I am listening to my brain and not my heart on this one!  My husband and I have vowed to make sure they stay friends for as long as they want.  Also, we are great friends with the parents, so I'm sure this will give us incentive to get together!!

As far as the scrap world goes, I have done absolutely nothing this week except design a title on my Gypsy.  It will be cut out at some point today and finally adhered to the halloween layout that I've had on my scrap table for at least a week!!

Great Weekend

This past weekend was a really great one!  On Friday my daughter got to stay home from school, so she was pretty happy about that.  We spent the morning together, and although it started out with her crying her eyes out because her dada had gone out of town for the day, it got better once we got moving.  We went to breakfast and then made a trip to Target where she roped me into buying her a new toy.  She thinks that everytime we go to Target she should be able to get a new toy even though I've explained to her that we can't always get something new.  Then, we spent the rest of the day with extended family.  She had a blast, and it was good for her to visit with her aunt and uncle.  On Saturday, I got some "me" time and decided to head to my LSS to check out the new stuff.  I ended up spending some $$ on new BoBunny and My Little Shoebox lines.  Then I came home and started to scrap a halloween LO (Yes, I am way behind!!!).  I have almost finished it -- just have to cut out some letters with the Cricut and add some journaling.  Sunday was a great day too even though I always go into "mourning" that the next day is a work day.  I got a Flip video and tested it out while my daughter did bubbles in the backyard.  The weather was perfect!!  So, with such a great weekend this must mean that my week will be just as good, right???  Here's to hoping for a good and speedy week!

So Proud!

So, we applied to 3 different private schools in the area for our daughter.  Well, we got our first acceptance letter yesterday!!  She was accepted into the kindergarten class which is such an accomplishment since she has a late birthday.  In FL, the cut off is September 1 so she just makes it by a month.  My husband also spoke to another one of the schools that we applied to, and it is looking promising there as well.  I cannot begin to tell you how proud I am of my smart little cookie!!  I just about cried when I read that letter.  Of course, the reality that she will be going to the "big" school next year is really starting to hit me!  I am so excited for her, but at the same time, I know this will now be the big leagues.  She will graduate from her pre-k class at her preschool in May.  It will be mixed emotions for me as it will mean that we will be leaving her preschool and saying goodbye to so many wonderful people who are just like family.  I will be sad and happy at the same time!!  Her preschool has just been the best, and they are known in the area for providing a first class education in a nurturing environment.  I fully believe they are the reason she is able to qualify for kindergarten and I am so thankful for all they have done!
