Boo to You!

Howdy!  I'm back today with a Halloween layout.  I love Halloween layouts, but sometimes they can be so daunting if your stash looks anything like mine!  I have tons of Halloween collections that I have purchased over the years.  I decided that I needed to focus on one collection for this layout, and that collection is the October 31st collection by Doodlebug.  One of the reasons I chose this collection is because I had an idea in mind before I started my layout.  The 6 x 6 paper pad for this collection was perfect for my idea!  I wanted to create a frame around the edge of my layout using small pieces of patterned paper.  Since the patterns are scaled down in the 6 x 6 pad, it was perfect for doing this.  Here is a picture of my layout so you can see what I mean.

I started out with a spider web cut file that I purchased from Kerri Bradford Studio.  I sized it so that it was around 11 x 11 or so.  Then, I glued down the web to a white cardstock background.  After that, I just started piecing papers from the 6 x 6 pad around the edge.  I did not measure the pieces.  I just picked what looked good to my eye.  To create the Mickey ears for my title, I found an image online and then traced and cut it on my Cameo.  The "Boo" is a cut file from JustNick Studio.  The rest of my title was done using Doodlebug alpha stickers.  I added some sticker embellishments and a flair button from A Flair for Buttons.  I did not go crazy embellishing since my page had all of those patterns around the edge.  I wanted to make sure that my photos would still be the focus of my layout.  And, that's where I called it finished!!

I also have a process video for this layout if you would like to watch.

Well, thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a happy scrappy week!!

Family

Howdy!  This time of the year always brings back such warm memories of when I was a child.  I loved living close to my extended family members because I would usually get to see them for Thanksgiving.  I feel so lucky that we got to spend that time together.

My daughters do not have any cousins, so the holidays are a little bit different for them.  They still get to see family, but it's not exactly like it was for me growing up.  That being said, my oldest daughter has always referred to my cousins' kids as her cousins.  We always just went with it since there really was no harm in her thinking that they were her cousins!!  Back in 2010, we got a picture of most of the "cousins".  I found the picture the other day and decided to scrapbook about how she calls them her "cousins".

For this layout, I used the "Fall Friends" collection by Doodlebug.  It is filled with such adorable little critters!  Here is a close up picture of the top left side of my layout.  I used two of the little critters and made it look like they were holding the family banner.

In this next close up picture, you can see the embellishment cluster that I created on the bottom right side of my layout.  The leaves were cut out of some of the patterned papers on my Silhouette Cameo using a cut file that I purchased from The Cut Shoppe.  I used those as the base for my cluster and then added some stickers, Sprinkles Shapes, and the year using some of the Teensy Type stickers.

In this last close up picture, you can see where I put my journaling.  I didn't want to put the journaling directly on the layout, so I made a tag out of the orange wood grain paper.  I stamped the lines on the tag using an older Technique Tuesday stamp.  I added a twine bow and then stuck it in the little pocket that I created behind the photo.

And, that's where I call her finished!  If you'd like to watch my process video for this layout, you can click below.

Pre-K Graduation

Hey, my scrappy friends!  Today, I am sharing a layout from my oldest daughter's Pre-K graduation.  She graduated in 2010, but I didn't scrap this one until now.  I am so glad I waited because I had recently purchased the Doodlebug "Back to School" collection and the colors were perfect.  Here is a picture of my layout.

The yellow stars in the background were cut on my Cameo using a cut file from The Cut Shoppe.  I thought they were a great contrast to the blue paper, and they also help to make my photo stand out more on the page.  The title was also cut on my Cameo using a cut file from Kerri Bradford.  I cut each part of the title out of different patterned papers in the collection.  Then, I cut the title out again from black cardstock.  I backed each part of the title with the black cardstock offset just a tiny bit.  This just helps to make it stand out more.  Here is a close up picture of the title.

I also used the Sprinkles Shapes that coordinated with the collection.  I added some of the crayons and the tiny stars.  I love the way this turned out!  I'll be using this collection more for sure to scrap some other school pictures!  I also have a process video for this layout if you'd like to watch.

Well, thanks for stopping by today! I'll be back soon with another layout share. Have a happy scrappy day!!

Splash!

Hey there! Today, I am sharing a layout that really makes me happy!! I created this one back in August, but am just now sharing it here. I love the bright colors in this layout! Summer is around for most of the year here in Florida, so I have so much summer paper (It's a good thing I absolutely love summer paper)!! I decided that this picture paired perfectly with products from Doodlebug and Pebbles (because, yes, I have both of those summer collections!!). I did not film a process video for this one, so I thought I would share my layout here with some close up pictures. Here is a picture of the full layout.

I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe for the large sun, the waves, and the title. I cut the sun out of white cardstock and then misted it with Dylusions mist. The other pieces were cut out of patterned paper. I also did an internal offset on the waves and the title and used a sketch pen first in my Cameo so that they would stand out more on the page. I have really been giving my Cameo some serious love lately!

This picture gives you a good close up of the sun and the little embellishment cluster that I added to the top right corner of the picture.  Like I mentioned, I used Dylusions mists to spray the sun.  I first used a yellow mist and then let it dry.  I went back and sprayed just a little bit of orange to warm it up some.  All of the stickers are from the Doodlebug Sunkissed collection.  I just made them into little banners and put them along the right side of the picture for more interest (there was also a woman in the background of the picture and this was an excellent way to cover her).  The sunglasses are from the Pebbles Fun in the Sun collection and the flair button is one that I purchased from Two Peas in a Bucket a few years ago.

And, here is a close up of my title.  I love how fun it feels!  It was the perfect title for this silly picture of my daughter dipping her head in the fountain.

I must say that I am really pleased with how this layout turned out.  I am focusing on what makes me happy in life, and bright colors just happen to be one of those things!!!  Well, thanks for looking and I will be back soon with another layout that I finished last week (which also has a process video).  Have a happy scrappy day!

This is Love

Hey there! Today, I am sharing a layout that I did a few weeks ago using mostly my Felicity Jane kits. For those of you who are not familiar with Felicity Jane, it is a kit club with almost all exclusive goodies. One of the great things about the kits is that much of the stuff coordinates from month to month. You also get a stamp set each month and they are really cute stamps.

So, my layout today was inspired by one of Ashley Horton's layouts. Click here to see her layout. I used the "All Tied Up" file from her shop on Etsy to do the letters. I ungrouped the letters and removed the inside of the letters so that I had just the outline left. I then cut it out on my Silhouette. I love the way the big letters look!! Here is a picture of my finished layout.

Update: Erin Condren 2015 - 2016 Life Planner Unboxing

Hey everyone! I did another unboxing video to share my horizontal life planner. If you watched the first unboxing video, you'll remember that I was supposed to receive the horizontal layout, but when I opened the box, I found a vertical layout life planner. Well, I contacted Erin Condren and they really came through! They told me to keep the vertical life planner and said they would send me the horizontal one. Of course, I had to wait for it to be printed and shipped, but when I opened up the box this time I was definitely happy! Here is the video if you would like to watch.

Have a great day!

Erin Condren 2015-2016 Life Planner Unboxing

Hey there. Today I am sharing my unboxing video of my 2015 - 2016 Erin Condren Life Planner. I was so excited to open the box and share all of my goodies! Unfortunately, they sent me the wrong layout. I ordered the horizontal layout but they sent me the vertical layout. I have already sent them a support email from their website. What a bummer!! I also was not thrilled about how the new coils work with the planner. Yes, they are thicker which I love, but it was very difficult to turn the pages. It kept getting hung up on the coil down at the bottom. It also will not lay flat. My current EC planner will lay almost flat--flat enough that I don't notice when I'm writing in it. So, I will wait to hear back from Erin Condren's customer service to see what happens next. Of course, I will record a new video when I get the correct planner, and I'll also let you know how my customer service experience is.

Have a happy scrappy day and a lovely weekend!

Felicity Jane "I Am" Challenge

Hey there! I'm back again today to share a layout that I made for the Felicity Jane "I Am" challenge. If you are not familiar with Felicity Jane, make sure to go here and check out their kits. Almost everything in the kits are exclusive items. While you are there, you can go to the blog and read about the "I Am" challenge. You do not have to be a kit subscriber to participate.

So, for my layout I started out with a cut file from The Cut Shoppe. I used the All Heart Remix cut file. I cut it out of white cardstock at about 11 x 11. I then traced around the inside of the hearts on my patterned paper and then cut all of the hearts out. Cutting out the hearts and getting them adhered to the cut file took the most time, but I absolutely love the results! I glued the inside section of the hearts down on my background cardstock and popped up the outer hearts to give some dimension and make it stand out more. Then, I matted my photo and got everything stuck down on my page. I was struggling trying to find the right letters to use for "Lucky" when I remembered that I had some Amy Tangerine word Thickers. I took the word "Lucky" and sprayed it with Gold Heidi Swapp color shine mist. I then glued that down using hot glue. I used a stamp in the kit to stamp the "I AM" on a tag which was also in the kit. I must say that I am so pleased with how this layout turned out! Here is a photo of my completed layout.

And, here are some close up pictures of my layout.

Don't you just love that gold flair button? There were three gold flair buttons in the June kit!! Swoon!! Well, thanks for stopping by today. I hope to have the process video for this layout uploaded in the next few days. Have a happy scrappy day!

National Donut Day

When I received my May Felicity Jane kit, I wasn't quite sure what to do with the donut paper and flair badge that I found in the kit. I was thinking that I would probably not ever use it. Well, I was so wrong! My oldest daughter and I decided to try a local donut shop on National Donut Day. OMG!! It was incredible! The donuts were fresh as can be! I mean, seriously, they were still warm! We got to pick our toppings which was pretty cool. I chose a vanilla iced with sprinkles and a chocolate drizzle. My daughter chose a glazed with bacon pieces. So delicious! So, I had to create a layout from that day!

All of my papers are from the Felicity Jane May kit. I mixed up fonts on the title using one font from the May kit and another from the February kit. And, how 'bout that cute donut flair!! The "O" in donut was the perfect place for me to put it! Here are some more detailed pictures.

I also have a process video if you would like to watch how I put this one together.

Thanks for visiting today and have a great weekend!

Update and a Process Video

Hey there everyone! I am working on getting my blog updated. I bought a nice template for a reasonable price on Etsy, and I am still in the process of getting everything the way that I want it. I am hoping to post more often, but life is so busy! My oldest is out of school for the summer and I didn't sign her up for many camps this year. Thought it would be nice to just let her chill out and have some play dates. I might be re-thinking this decision by the end of the summer!! LOL! I wanted to post my latest process video here on the old blog even though most of you have probably already seen it. I am hoping to post at least one process video a week, but we'll see how that goes. I really only get Thursday and Friday to do scrapbooking, and that's only if my daughter doesn't have me running around taking her places.

Well, that's all for now! I hope everyone else is having a great day! Talk to you soon!

Just Play

Hey there, everyone. Today, I have another layout to share with you. This one is using mostly the Play Date collection by Bella Blvd. This is an older collection, but it is so cute! I have hoarded so many Bella Blvd collections over the years, and I decided that I'm not going to do that anymore. I can't look at all the cute papers if they are sitting on my shelf in my scrap room! So, I had this picture of my youngest daughter playing on the playground and thought this collection would be perfect.

There was a layout that Victoria Calvin posted in her Facebook group and everyone loved it so much that she made it one of the challenges to scraplift her layout. I based my layout on hers, and I love the way it turned out.

Here are some close up shots.

The word "PLAY" and the wonky scallops are from The Cut Shoppe. You can find them here.

Well, I hope everyone has had a great week so far! Have a happy scrappy day!

You Color My Life Beautiful

Today, I would like to share another layout that I created using mostly Bella Blvd. The title on my layout is what got my brain ticking! I got that cut file from the lovely Wilna Furstenberg. I had been hoarding the Lucky Starz collection for a while now, and I am so glad that I did! It went perfectly with my title. The colors were pretty much in rainbow order for me already. So, I decided to punch a bunch of strips with my small scallop border punch. Once I had them punched and ready to go, I adhered them to a large heart that I cut out with my cameo. I did some wonky sewing around the large heart. I then re-sized the same heart and cut out two from vellum so that I could fill them with sequins and sew them together. I stapled the sequin filled heart to my layout and then added a Bella Blvd crochet heart. I fluffed up the scallops on the big heart and then adhered the picture and the title. I matted my picture on vellum and one of the papers from the Daily Chevies collection to make it stand out with all that color. I did not embellish much since there was already so much color on the layout. I did not want it to feel busy. I added my journaling and a little enamel heart. And, that's where I called it finished! Here's a picture of the layout.

And, here's two detailed pictures.

I really love how colorful this layout is! There could not have been a better paper collection!

I am looking forward to getting my hands on some of the new Bella Blvd collections, especially Color Chaos!! Oh, and the new bows and the enamel dots and doodads!! It looks like so much fun!

Well, that's all for today. Have a happy scrappy day, and I'll be back soon to share a layout that I'm currently working on!

A Christmas Layout in February?

Why not? LOL! Actually, I started this layout back in December or January but put it aside until the end of this past week. Once I saw that Bella Blvd was having a creative team call, I decided that I would give it a shot. Bella Blvd has been one of my most favorite paper manufacturers for years, and it would be a dream come true to be on their creative team. I decided that I would submit this layout, so I got to work and finished it pretty quickly. The hard part was already done (rolling all those papers)! I just needed to embellish and add a title. I was really pleased with the way this layout turned out! Almost everything is from Bella Blvd except for the title and the flair. I cut the title on my cameo, and the flair is from A Flair for Buttons.

And here's a close up shot of the details.

Even though the overall picture quality is not fabulous, I really loved the way my youngest was looking up at Santa! I was worried that she was going to totally freak out but she didn't. She seemed fascinated with Santa, and even at two years old, she told him with very clear speech that she wanted presents for Christmas. So incredibly cute!

Well, that's all for today. I'll be back tomorrow to post another layout. Have a happy scrappy week!

I'm Still Here!

Hey there my scrappy friends!  Sorry I have not posted for a week or so.  I have been busy with some things that I am working on.  I promise that I will share once I have completed them, but I need to get them all finished up before sharing.  I have this habit of getting a vision in my head of how I want my layouts to look every now and then.  When that happens, I tend to work on it until it looks exactly like what I envisioned.  And, it never fails, I always get my best ideas when I'm laying there in bed at night right before I fall asleep.

I also ordered a gooseneck clamp to hold my iPhone so that I can attempt to do process videos.  We will see how that goes!!  I will post here whenever I upload my first video.  The first one may not be a process video.  It might be a kit share or something like that.

Well, I hope Monday is going well for everybody out there!  Have a happy scrappy week!

January Hip Kit Club Layouts

Hey there everyone!  I just received my February Hip Kit Club kit, so I thought I would share what I made with my January kit.  I am not packing up my January kit just yet!!  I made 4 layouts, and have plans for a couple more.  The January kit featured papers from Dear Lizzy, Heidi Swapp, and Amy Tangerine.  I totally enjoyed working with this kit.  Here are the 4 layouts that I made.

There was actually one more layout that I made that was a combination of products from the kit and my stash.

Like I said, I will be making more layouts with this kit before I pack it away or combine it with the February kit.

Well, that's all for now!  Have a happy scrappy weekend!

A Christmas Layout

Yes, I know it's February!  But, since my last post featured a Thanksgiving layout, I thought that I would post a Christmas layout today.  I still have one Christmas layout in process and many more to do.  I just needed a break from all the Christmas hoopla, and I wanted to start using my first Hip Kit.

So, this layout features my youngest daughter once again.  She has this habit of obsessing over a certain stuffed animal for a period of time, and then she moves on to another one.  She was obsessing over this little stuffed dog from the Santa Buddies movie during this time period, so I snapped some pictures of her one night at bedtime.  She has moved on to another stuffed animal now, but at least I got her love of "Fluffy" captured!

I used a combination of products on this layout from my Felicity Jane kits and Bella Blvd.  I really like how it turned out!

I hope you all are having a great week, and I'll be back soon to share more scrappy goodness!
